Henri Savenay
Henri studied at the Academy of fine arts in Hasselt (Belgium) where he graduated in graphic design. After that he studied painting for 4 years at the same Academy. He participated at several group exhibitions and also had several soloshows. He was selected for “Heist op den Berg” art competition with his sculptures.
He made artwork for “Kreativ aus dem Koffer”/ Brussel, Diplomatenkunst in Belgien. He had several orders to make art work for the government and won the price ”Timeminister” for the Timecongres in the city of Tongeren.
Henri lives and works in Tongeren, the oldest and first city in Belgium.
His work evoluted to assemblages, digital photocollages and sculptures made of recycled materials. His art is inspired by “Dadaïsme” that was founded in 1915 in Zürich. His creations are socialy engaged and are a mix of melancholy and actuality.
Bruno Vekemans
Bruno Vekemans was born in Antwerp on July 29, 1952.
As a child and teenager he is constantly engaged in drawing and painting.
He took one preparatory year of decoration and a two-year interior decoration course at the Technicum Institute, Londenstraat, Antwerp. In 1971 he started experimenting with different techniques, e.g. collages, églomisé and comics. In 1988 his art work was focused on linear works, mostly gouache on pattern paper. Later on he replaced the pattern paper by 17th century paper and started experimenting with oil on canvas.
He had several international exihibitions taking place in e.g. Tokyo, New York, Paris, Amsterdam, Sydney, and Los Angeles. By his travels he started his thematic series on Africa and Cuba that he displayed in various exhibitions around the world.
